Heart breaking words from someone new to our town

"Hello, and thank you for adding me to your Facebook. My wife and I have recently purchased a home and are new to town and really enjoy it here so far. We were a little disappointed in the lack of communication of the town officials towards new residents. When we first moved here we were unsure when garbage, recycling and other events were. It can be a little intimidating moving to a new town, and trying to find info out. I called the clerk and several councilmen/councilwomen that were on the website. The only one to call back was Ed Hanics. He called immediately and answered all my questions. I was a bit disappointing in the rest of the officials lack of communication or at the very least a return message or that they had received mine. ...I was personally offended of this. I would have immediately contacted the taxpayer to let he or she know that I received there message. I'm not sure what the issue was, but I'm glad at least Mr. Hanics was able to help. I just thought I would share my new resident story via instant message. Thank you."

On 3-9-13 former Alpha councilman, Chris Pfefferle, met with Mike Savary at Craig Dunwell's (mom's) residence. Pfefferle has met with council members countless times in 2013 and taxpayers often share photos of his presence as evidence that "something is going on". Pfefferle is known for unethical and possibly illegal actions. He was caught lying on record during the police contract negotiations and also lied about his living situation to remain on council after moving from Alpha Borough.
 

Alpha feels numerous council members are corrupt. Lou Cartabona, Mike Savary, Craig Dunwell, Carol Schwar and Mike Schwar responded to residents' outcry for transparency and justice by filing a defamation suit against Save Alpha for posting about Alpha's issues publicly online.



On 6-22-13, Craig Dunwell and Carol Schwar stopped walking in the parade (Alpha Volunteer Fire Company's 100th Anniversary) to walk up to the sidewalk and take pictures of a sign protesting corruption on Alpha town council. Residents were outraged to see council members walking in the parade after refusing to assist Alpha in obtaining a much needed fire truck. Volunteers respond to emergencies in their own vehicles.

Friends of councilman Craig Dunwell claim he no longer wants any association with his long-time friend, councilman Mike Savary.

Dunwell is up for re-election in November and friends say he can't risk losing votes due to pending investigations regarding Savary's fraud, embezzlement and littering. 

Does Craig Dunwell intend to throw Mike Savary under the bus? Dunwell has a history of using friends then lashing out at them once he no longer needs their assistance.

It is a well-known fact that crooked councilman Craig Stanley Dunwell despises Alpha's fire department because he was told to stop hanging around the firehouse while he was running for mayor against Alpha's honorable and beloved mayor, Ed Hanics.

Alpha has been very concerned about its need for a new firetruck.

Craig Dunwell's aunt, Diane R. Hoffman, uses her "Jardinami" account (along with others) to support Dunwell by flagging any comments made by Alpha residents for the third party moderator to delete. Hoffman and Dunwell use various accounts to attack and harass anyone commenting on stories about Alpha.

Hoffman does not live in Alpha and claims she has not lived here since 1997.

Who dropped the ball?

Alpha residents have been following the story of the Pocquat family’s insurance problem. Maura Pocquat’s 13-year-old daughter was injured at softball practice while playing first base for the Alpha Colts on June 2, as she was trying to catch a ball from the pitcher. She suffered a shattered nose and had surgery on June 14.

Alpha Borough is supposed to have supplemental personal injury insurance, but someone forgot to renew the insurance. Maura Pocquat said Alpha officials admitted that someone dropped the ball on the insurance and that she witnessed finger pointing over the issue.

More recently, Alpha has been discussing why the supplemental personal injury insurance was not renewed. Speculations lead to one shared concern – was the new auditing firm to blame??

 

Alpha Borough council hired auditing firm, Suplee, Clooney & Co. this year. The firm replaced Tom Ferry, of Ferraioli, Wielkotz, Cerullo & Cuva, which served Alpha close to 20 years.

Councilman Chris Pfefferle pushed for this change, claiming he wanted a new set of eyes to examine Alpha's budget and practices.

Councilmen Michael Savary and Craig Dunwell joined Pfefferle in voting for Suplee, Clooney & Co.

Council President Robert Gara, Councilman Alex Zikas and Councilwoman Klara Tarsi opposed the resolution.

"Tom Ferry always did an excellent job, but there's some new faces on council and there's some change…" – Alpha's Honorable Mayor, Ed Hanics.

Councilman Craig Dunwell, (Councilmen Pfefferle and Savary’s close buddy) recently suggested that Harry Zikas was somehow to blame for the fiasco, which is laughable. Dunwell is known to point blame at the Zikas brothers, as Dunwell is clearly intimidated by their professional leadership skills, and their ability to represent Alpha’s best interests.
